ClockWork Cros exhibited his eye-catching, Surrealist, wall-clocks as part of Rare Gallery’s exhibition at the 14th edition of SCOPE New York, during Armory Arts Week, which took place from March 3-6 2016, at Metropolitan West in Manhattan.

ClockWork Cros’ exhibition at SCOPE consisted of an arresting installation of fifty of his Surrealist clocks, covering a 6’x9’ area of Rare Gallery's wall at SCOPE.  Art lovers, media and celebrities alike - including Walter Robinson, Jon Bon Jovi, Swizz Beatz, Martha Cooper, Charlie Ahearn, Teddy Sinclair and Blouin Artinfo - all found the clocks captivating and fun. Beyond the pop-art sensibilities the works inspire, they question concepts of time, idolatry and cultural relevancy. The works also pay homage to Salvador Dali's melting clocks.

Although initially conceived as a single installation of fifty clocks, created as impressive editions of five, ClockWork Cros offered the clocks as both a single piece and as individual clocks to attendees (for those who could not afford a higher price for the complete installation). Clocks included likenesses of icons such as Marylyn Monroe, Dali, Katie Perry, Notorious BIG, Kurt Cobain, Andy Warhol and Basquiat. Exemplifying some of the questions asked by ClockWork Cros’ installation, a group of 12-year-old girls who stopped by Rare Gallery’s booth mistakenly identified Monroe as an arguably more relevant Christina Aguilera.
